Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
"Everyone is the architect of their own learning."
Claudius
Reflection: I believe that the meaning of this quote is that everyone has a different form of understanding many things. For example, to get a good education, you might need to understand things differently.. depending on how comfortable you may be. There are people who are visual learning; they must see something in order to learn from it. Some people learn by listening to an instructor or a professor. The whole point of this quote is that you must explore the education system and see what helps you the most. You're unique, you will build your own learning techniques within little time without even trying so hard. All you need to do is choose the right.. you're an architecture of your own mind.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
"The man who has no imagination has no wings."
Muhammad Ali

Reflection: What this statement is telling us, is that you need an imagination in order to move forward. An imagination will send you to a different world, it'll give you better idea, it'll take you to success. Without an imagination, your life is dull.. you have no where to go. Trying to be a better thinker will change for the best. The wings represent your future, they represent your destination. An imagination is what represents your thoughts, your actions. Just use your imagination to fly and to get to a different world, a better one for you.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
"The only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the difference of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success. Bad habits are the unlocked door to failure. Thus, the first law I will obey, which precedeth all other is- 'I will form good habits and become their slaves.' "
Og Mandino

Reflection: Having good habits will easily help a person stay focused. What the quote means is that everyone has the same amount of time to succeed, but the ones that do are the ones who have goal. With great habits, all can be accessed. For example, a good habit is starting your homework the moment you walk into your house.. those good grades will eventually pay off. You must choose the right.

"Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force."
Elaine Maxwell

Reflection: The meaning of this quote is to inform people that you're only doing you. As long as you're focusing on yourself and trying your best, you should be on a positive road. You're your own strength and that's exactly how it should be.

You Can Succeed Everyday (2)

You Can Succeed Everyday

Part 2

My strategies for written assignments: I try to outline before I write because otherwise I forget what I am supposed to be talking about. I try not to leave them until the last minute because then I will just write what I feel. Teachers like your opinion and if you can find something from the reading or research that relates specifically to your life, they like it even more because it allows you to take ownership of your work. I write things that I want others to read; not things that I have to write because the teacher said so.

How I succeed in team projects: Personally, I do not like working on group projects, especially ones that I worked on in high school. However, when it is required to work in a group, usually I try to lead. I like taking the lead because then I know that my grade will be a good one. I do well in school, I always have and I don’t plan on changing that anytime soon, so when I need to work with people who maybe don’t care as much as I do, or they have more time to waste on things other than the project, I try to be in charge. That way I know that things are going to get done on time and that I am going to get a good grade. If I am working in a group of people who all want to work, then it is a different story.

"I will persist...." pt.1

I Will Persist Until I Succeed

Part 1

Heather A.’s Academic Success Story

In high school, I didn’t study as much in groups as I do in college. I feel I learn better when I can teach other people information and we can exchange notes taken in class because sometimes other students pick up on more important information than others.

My overall study method: I prefer to study in small groups and practice problems where I can work out the methods verbally with others.

My test study method: I have very different techniques. For financial tests, I try to work on problems given in class as well as problems from power points and homework. When it comes to marketing classes, I review my notes and try to make diagrams t describe different processes.

My time management secret: One of my biggest secrets is too look over the information that you just learned when class is over. After reviewing the information, it sticks a little bit better than waiting until the night before the test.

How I deal with multiple projects/ tests: I try to work on whatever has the shortest deadline and work from there.

My overall study method: I tend to do massive studying blocks of about an hour or so in order to really learn the material.
