Student Summary

Tony Farmer's Crimes and Consequences

Summary: Tony Farmer was a senior student in high school. He was one of the top 50 best basketball player in high school. Although he was becoming successful, Tony made a huge mistake. He had been charged for robbery, assault, and more! Farmer was sentenced to three years in prison. Tony still couldn't believe he was punished for his crimes. All of his success went down the drain in just a matter of time.

Reflection: I think Tony has no bigger regret than this. Now that his life has completely turned upside down, he's probably realizing the huge mistakes that he has done. There's no way he can live the same life like before. Even if he changes after getting out of prison, he won't be able to make it as big in life as he thought. If he tried to make the best of what he had, he probably wouldn't go so far with a messed up record/story past him. He could've been in college, and maybe even be able to make it in the NBA but those choices that he made are something he can never take back and that will affect him for the rest of his life. Tony Farmer chose the wrong.

Alex Schwazer's Situation

Alex Schwazer's Situation

Reflection: This Olympic gold medalist has finally came out with the truth. Alex was a really good race walker. During the Beijing competition, he won first place but was caught taking dope the following day. Schwazer held a press conference and stated that he was actually glad that he got caught, it was a great relief. He said that he wasn't made to do drugs, being caught only helped him avoid the wrong.

Marion Jones' rise played out on the world's biggest stage; so did her fall

Marion Jones had gone far in life. She was winning Olympic medals for running. She had done a really good job in training. A fast, dedicated woman until she admitted she used enhancing drugs, (very popular in running). She had lied so many times, until the truth was told. That took away her bright career and gave her a negative fame.

Grandparents (Summary)

Grandparents' Arrest
Summary/ reflection: Now arrested, the grandparents of a really young girl locked their granddaughter in their bathroom. She  was in that bathroom for SIX YEARS! The only time the girl would be allowed to get out was on special occasions and to go to school. She would sleep on cot, with just a blanket and a pillow. This young girl, who is now 9 years old, had very horrible grandparents. The older man and woman turned themselves in. I believe this is a really cruel thing to do. They have ruined her childhood and when the little girl is older, maybe she'll grow up with problems due to this horrible trauma. Her life isn't over, but it does make a huge difference. So many opportunities she could've had, have gone down the drain.

"Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices."
Albert A Montapert
Reflection: To me, this quote makes perfect sense. It's been said because people always go through this situation. Doing good things will give you a good ending, just how doing bad things will lead you to something bad. People receive what they deserve. If you choose the right, the right will pay off. If you choose the wrong, well, the wrong will continue behind you. You sometimes just can't get away from what has been done.

“Light and darkness can’t occupy the same space at the same times. CTR is light- CTW is darkness.”

Call/ Haymore

Reflection: As long as you choose the right, your life will be good. CTR is obviously a positive thing, brightening up your day by making situations better for you. Having the opportunity between choosing the right and the wrong will make people realize if certain things are worth it or not.
